Welcome to Nocturne City, a rain-slicked city where the supernatural never bothered hiding. Here, vampires run the banks and the nightclubs, werewolves patrol the docks and the precincts, and wizards broker power from penthouses or gutter-level rune dens. The skyline is a jagged crown of glass and gargoyles; the subways still run, but you share them with things that haven’t paid a fare since 1893. Streetlights flicker with cold fire, protection wards are spray-painted over graffiti, and street markets sell both cigarettes and vials of consecrated blood.
The humans who remain either work for the powerful, owe them money, or are trying very hard to become one of them. Laws are enforced by the Truce: an uneasy accord written in blood and oath-stone after the last turf war turned half the boroughs to ash. Break the Truce and the Enforcers come, creatures so old and terrifying that even the ancient vampires speak of them in whispers.
Nocturne City never sleeps. It’s a place where ambition, desperation, and hunger wear expensive suits or torn leather jackets. Where a wrong glance in a bar can start a pack war, where a single forbidden spell can crash the stock market, and where the difference between surviving the night and becoming part of it is usually just one bad decision.
This is the city that chews up dreamers, bleeders, and would-be heroes alike, and spits out legends… or corpses.
Tonight, like every night, someone’s about to make that bad decision.
